I think that working in dance before and art afterwards let me really realise the power of being resilient. 
I had (and still have) to go through so many ‘No’, both in auditions and applications for grants, but I think that having a ‘greater’ aim in mind, remembering to be good with yourself, and being able to accommodate your journey around those bumps is something quite important.

I have to remind myself all the time that if I get a ‘No’ or an ‘unfortunately not this time’, it’s not about myself, or how good my work is (as my work and life blend into each other quite a lot), but it just means that it was not yet the time. It is hard, as I tend to take things very personally (and going back to the interview, accepting love and recognition only if I’m the best at something), but it’s a work that needs to be done to keep going forward, and push my practice forward. Again, it’s focussing on the whole image rather than on details.

I love the spirit of what you and @Mark T Cox indicated about struggles being a source of value add (particularly to create interesting art).  It’s not a controversial view - popular sayings suggest it build character, smooth waters don’t make skilled sailors, growth happens in discomfort, but it’s always inspiring to hear real examples.  Do you have any? I like to remind myself of this when I’m facing frequent hardships.  🙏
